%X Geoenvironmental studies have become important methodological perspective for understanding the complexity understanding of the relationship nature society. It is worth mentioning that the use of geoprocessing techniques has subsidized environmental mapping and among them the mapping of the environmental units of the landscape (environmental systems) inferring the best environmental monitoring. In this perspective, the research aims to map the environmental systems of the Riacho do Sangue basin using geoprocessing techniques based on the methodological delimitation of Souza (2000). In this way the research tends to identify the systems aiming to provide elements for the environmental planning of the public and private sphere. The study area is located within the Jaguaribe basin planning area and this, in turn, is part of the Bacia do Jaguaribe, Ceará, Brazil. The Rio do Sangue basin has an area of approximately 2,463 km² and covers 4 municipalities, with the respective percentage referring to the area of the basin Deputado Irapuan Pinheiro (19%), Solonópole (42%), Milhã (12%), Jaguaretama (27%). With the aid of geoprocessing techniques and arduous field work the following environmental systems were described: Depression, Indoor Accumulation Glacis, Accumulation Plain and Residual Reliefs. These systems were divided into ten environmental subsystems: Preserved Depression of the High/Middle Riacho do Sangue, Dissected Depression of High/Medium Riacho do Sangue, Dissected Depression of the Middle/Low Riacho do Sangue, Preserved Depression of the Middle/Low Riacho do Sangue, Levels Top, Bottom edge, Fluvial Plain, Seasonal flood area, Residual ridges and Inselbergs.
